Dr. Jennifer Palmer is a board-certified psychiatrist offering general psychiatric care to adults in the greater Baltimore area and throughout Maryland. She specializes in mood disorders, including major depression and bipolar disorder, and is particularly interested in reproductive-related mood syndromes in women such as post-partum and perimenopausal depression and the treatment of mood disorders during pregnancy.

The COVID Public Health Emergency (PHE) ended on May 11, 2023. Prescribing restrictions mandated by the Ryan Haight Act, waived during the PHE, will be enforceable as of January 1, 2025. As a result, controlled prescriptions can only be ordered from Maryland pharmacies as of January 1, 2026.
Dr. Palmer is a graduate of Wesleyan University and received her medical degree from Yale Medical School. She completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Maryland and her psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Palmer completed a post-doctoral fellowship in affective disorders at Johns Hopkins during which she was involved in clinical trials studying bipolar depression and mood disorders in women during pregnancy. She continued to see patients in consultation at the Women's Mood Disorder Center as a Johns Hopkins faculty member through 2016. Dr. Palmer is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and Past President of the Maryland Psychiatric Society. She is also an associate member of the Society of Biological Psychiatry.
